Cooperation with the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK
Performance Netzwerk Thüringen is invited to Venice
After a closed and intense cooperation with the Warsaw International Performance Art Weekend last year, the Performance Netzwerk Thüringen is super excited to send four wonderful Performance Artists from Thüringen to Co-Creation Live Factory | ART WEEK 2017. This happens because of a profound and heartfelt cooperation with Venice International Performance Art Week this year.

"CO-CREATION LIVE FACTORY Prologue 1”

With a new project under the title "CO-CREATION LIVE FACTORY Prologue 1", the Venice International Performance Art Week heads into a new direction. Founded on the principles of artistic collaboration, cooperation and temporary artistic community, "CO-CREATION LIVE FACTORY" is born to be an artistic experience of a different kind.
The concept developed out of the ART WEEK's core mission and its Educational Learning Program. The aim is to empower participating international artists who have been selected through an Open Call, to articulate and develop their individual praxis during ten days within an independent temporary autonomous zone of co-creation, under the tuition of the artists Marilyn Arsem, VestAndPage and Andrigo&Aliprandi.
The culmination of this 10 days co-creation process will be open to the public on December 14-16, 2017: we will transform the ART WEEK venue Palazzo Mora together into a dynamic performance site through a series of collective performance operas, as well as collaborative and solo performances.
The project is intended for those artists, performers, visionary poets, who wish to articulate and refine their skills, expand their practice, exploring new ideas and approaches, allowing their work to become more fully realised. It offers a rare opportunity to explore new territories of performance in an extended, intensive period of time outside of an academic setting. It is both a learning path and a unique occasion to work and collaborate together in the ART WEEK venue at the European Cultural Centre | Palazzo Mora, while strengthening the creative talent and intellectual freedom of each participant.
"CO-CREATION LIVE FACTORY Prologue 1" consists of:
• 10 days of intensive co-creation workshop processes for selected international artists in tutor groups led by the artists ANDRIGO & ALIPRANDI (Italy), MARILYN ARSEM (US) and VestAndPage (Venice/Germany), including discussions on specific topics structured in the form of roundtables and open dialogues.
• Morning lectures and artistic interventions by ROBIN DEACON (Artist, Chicago), JILL MCDERMID & ERIK HOKANSON (Artists and directors, New York); PREACH R SUN (Artist, US), and MARCEL SPARMANN (Artist, Germany), as well as lectures by ELISABETTA DI MAMBRO (Artistic director and producer, Venice) and FRANCESCA CAROL ROLLA (Curator, Venice).
• Three days program of public performances on 14 - 16 December 2017 at the Venice International Performance Art Week venue Palazzo Mora, Venice (Admission free), including an exhibition section displaying performance pedagogical material.

Was wir als real und wirklich,
vielleicht sogar als wahrhaftig bezeichnen, ist oft nicht mehr als
die brüchige Grenzziehung zwischen tatsächlicher- und gewünschter
Realität. Eine Linie auf der wir Schritt für Schritt balancieren
und uns wünschen, sie möge zum Pfad, zum bequemen Weg werden. Schon
das Suchen und Finden von Meldungen, die die tatsächliche
Wirklichkeit abbilden, wird immer komplexer und erscheint
undurchdringlich. Wir leben mit Fakenews, Headlines und
allgegenwärtigen Pop-Mantras. Wir klammern uns an das 'Im Moment
sein', ohne diesen Moment bisher erfahren zu haben, wir füllen
Leerstellen mit populistischen Krach und sind dauerhaft erschöpft im
Antworten.
Daher soll sich diese Werkstatt allein
der Wirklichkeit wie sie ist und nicht wie wir sie haben wollen,
widmen. Sie soll sich mit diesen Phänomen in all seinen Facetten und
Extremen nach Innen und nach Außen beschäftigen; mit den Fragen
nach künstlerischem Handeln, welches mich und andere Wirklichkeit
erfahren lässt, nach körperlichen Kippmomenten, nach Ritualen, nach
Räumen, Objekten, Grenzen die unbedingt wahr sind. Diese Werkstatt
soll gleichermaßen Realitätslabor, wie auch eigener Seismograph
dafür werden.
Formal arbeiten wir mit dem
Performativen in und um uns herum, mit dem Poetischen, mit
Bewegungsmaterial, mit Objekten und Texten, mit
collagenhaft-szenischen Schnipseln oder auch Foto und Video.

soll die Aufmerksamkeit auf die originäre Bildsprache der aktuellen
Protestbewegungen legen. In den sozialen Bewegungen der jüngsten
Zeit tauchen vielerorts immer wieder Motive auf die sich in Bild und
Stil sichtlich von der Bildsprache der Proteste letzter Jahrzehnte
abheben.
Neben den klassischen, rein Bild
basierten Trägern wie Poster, Karikaturen, Objekte, Kleidung, Farben
etc., sind es vor allem die Aktionen die für Aufmerksamkeit und
Lebendigkeit der Proteste führen. Als hinlänglich bekannte
Beispiele können der still stehende Mann auf dem Taksim Platz in
Istanbul, die Reenactments der Französischen Revolution in den
Straßen von Sofia oder auch die Aktionen der „Femen“ Gruppe
herangeführt werden. Der menschliche Körper kann somit vielleicht
als das letzte noch funktionierende Warnsystem gelten. Er schlägt
Alarm und wir müssen uns fragen, ob er nicht sogar die letzte noch
nicht korrumpierte Instanz darstellt.
Basierend auf der künstlerischen
Bildforschung von aktuellen Protestbewegungen soll eine visuell
agierte, bzw. auf Aktion basierte Bildsprache untersucht, entwickelt
und selbst ausprobiert werden.

After the very successful and inspiring 1st edition of Warsaw International Performance Art Weekend
with the topic 'Turbulence', including the fringe section 'Below the
Line'; we feel now the great need to continue this important research
and conversation about the most pressing topics our days and their
performative articulations. 'Turbulence' is therefore a perfect frame
and points in countless directions to continue. Enriched with a number
of powerful and vigorous performances within this context during WIPAW,
we would like to invite you into a more fragile sphere: the BREaKING
POINTS.
Here we want to raise awarness for the fractured areas in
us and our environment, for the imperceptible moment shortly before and
after the crack, for the slightes split which could tell us anything
and nothing. Maybe we want to stop time and rewind, breathe a handfull more air.
BREaKING POINTS invites to search for common experience of borderline
states, facing the limits, going beyond the line and out of the box
there we could realise and understand the nature of the BREaKING POINTS.
Thereby we are also reaching out for some pressing questions about
ownerships; are these points are social or private, fisical or
emotional, are they located and presented by actions or stillness, are
they the beginning or the end, are they what remains after everything
else disappeared?
We invite you for a honest and truthful
response, for the poetic encounter between permanence and impermanence,
the moment in that we and everything around collaps.
